On August 23th, 2024, Wizbiotech has secured the second FOB (Fecal Occult Blood) self-testing certificate in China.  This achievement  means  Wizbiotech’s leadership in the burgeoning field of at-home diagnostic testing.

Fecal occult blood testing is a routine test used to detect the presence of occult blood in stool. Occult blood refers to trace amounts of blood that are not visible to the naked eye and may be caused by gastrointestinal bleeding. This test is often used to screen for digestive tract diseases such as stomach ulcers, colon cancer, polyps, and more.

Fecal occult blood testing can be done chemically or immunologically. Chemical methods include paraffin method, double occult blood test paper method, etc., while immunological methods use antibodies to detect occult blood.

If the fecal occult blood test is positive, further colonoscopy or other imaging tests may be needed to determine the cause of the bleeding. Therefore, detection of fecal occult blood is of great significance for the early detection of digestive tract diseases.
